Understanding GMAT Scoring
The GMAT Focus Edition uses a new scoring system ranging from 205 to 805. Each of the three sections is scored independently on a 60-90 scale, with these converted to the composite score.
Section Scores: Quant, Verbal, and Data Insights each receive a score from 60-90. These are combined using an algorithm to produce your total score.
What Score Do You Need? Top MBA programs like Harvard and Stanford typically look for 720+. Most top 50 programs accept 650+. Some schools have lower minimums around 550-600.
GMAT vs GPA: Most schools use a holistic approach. A strong GPA can compensate for a lower GMAT and vice versa. However, a competitive GMAT score is crucial for scholarships.
